05 Move to WordPress
We'll move you to a site you can update yourself.
If changing a single word means asking someone else to do it, we'll move your site to WordPress. It'll be fast, easier to keep secure, and built so you can handle the day-to-day updates yourself.
Is this you?
- You have an old HTML site and can't update it yourself
- The monthly fees or limits of another CMS or website builder are bothering you
- Every update comes with a quote, so the information on your site goes stale
- The free check told you "This site isn't running WordPress"
What we do
Take stock of the current site
We list your pages, images, contact forms and URLs, then decide with you what to move, what to merge and what to drop.
Move the content as it is
Text, images and blog posts are moved to WordPress. If there's a lot, we import it in bulk.
Keep your URLs working
We set up redirects from old URLs to new ones, so you keep your standing with search engines and the links other sites have to you.
Build it light and secure
We build in Bricks, with nothing extra. No unnecessary plugins, and the security settings are in place from day one.
Set up so you can update it
We set things up so you can post news and swap photos without getting lost, and give you a short walkthrough.
How it works
1
Free check and a chat
We look at your current site and tell you how much there is to move and what to watch out for.
2
Quote and build
We agree the scope and schedule before starting. You can review the new site before it goes live.
3
Switch-over and maintenance
When everything's ready, we switch over and check the redirects are working. From there, monthly maintenance keeps an eye on it.
What stays with you
- All the content and images we moved
- Your domain, hosting and licences, all in your name
- The administrator account. Day-to-day updates are yours to make, no permission from us needed
- Maintenance is optional. No minimum term and no cancellation fee
FAQ
Can you keep our current design?
Yes, we can build it to match your current design. If you'd like to take the chance to refresh it, we're happy to talk about that too.
Will our search rankings drop?
We set up redirects and carry the page content over, so we work to avoid any big drop. We can't promise specific rankings, though.
How much does it cost, and how long does it take?
It depends on the number of pages, so we quote after the check. As a guide, from ¥330,000, over about 4 to 8 weeks.
I'm not great with computers. Will I be able to update it?
If you can write a document in Word, you'll most likely be fine. And if you get stuck, just ask us anytime.
